Fine and delicate are Thessalia’s wines – a region with special soil and climate features. In Rapsani, the vine growers have created cultivations of Xinomavro, Stavroto and Krassato that produce PDO wines with a distinctive deep red color.

The town of Aghialos produces the PDO dry white wine, consisted of a blend of Roditis and Savatiano – varieties that are favored by the low elevation of the vineyards, positioned close to Pagasetic Gulf.

In the lowlands of Karditsa we can find grape vines all around the homonym city, and also at the Agrafa mountain villages and at the Pindos mountain range. The most famous PDO wine of the region is the Black Mesenikola, which takes its name from a region’s village, while it is also produced in the villages Moscato, Morphovouni and Mitropoli.

Rich in flower aromas are the wines of Tirnavos, a region where Moscato Hamburg, Batiki, Savatiano and Roditis are cultivated.
